Vaan had been keeping watch but must’ve fallen asleep some time earlier, so the group had not been warned as to the incoming impact. As their tent rolled across the plane from the force that the as of yet unknown monster had swatted it with, the tired travelers were woken in shock as they fell helplessly around each other.
